|Q:|| What does patemm® stand for?|
|A: ||patemm® is a combination of Grace Welch's (mom inventor of the patemm pad) 2 eldest childrens' names: patrick and emma.
|Q:|| Where are patemm® pads manufactured?|
|A: ||patemm® pads are proudly made in the state of Massachusetts, USA! Our award-winning pads are handcrafted, thus, the manufacturing of each pad may result with minor differences, which is synonymous of quality.
|Q:|| How do I care for my patemm® pad?|
For LAMINATED COTTON patemm® pads: Wipe down with a damp cloth OR gentle machine wash cold. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners. Dry flat or air dry*.
For UNCOATED organic cotton pads: Gentle machine wash cold, do not bleach, tumble dry low and remove promptly or dry flat*.
*Please be sure that your pad is completely dry before using, folding, and storing it. NOTE: Avoid exposing your patemm® pad to direct sunlight for extended periods as fading may occur.
|Q:|| I noticed the pattern on my patemm® pad seems inconsistent. Is that normal?|
|A: ||Variations in the fabric pattern, such as squiggles, speckles and off-register printing, are integral to the cotton. These variations naturally occur in the manufacture of the fabric, and will not affect the quality and durability of the cotton. From time to time, due to temperature changes (wet or dry), 'crocking' may occur where the chocolate brown trim may rub off / stain onto the laminated cotton. Please note that this does not affect the functionality of the pad.
|Q:|| How many items can I really fit in the pockets?|
|A: ||The patemm® pad can hold one of the name brand plastic rectangular wipe containers, 1-2 diapers, and a change of clothes. The smaller pockets in the patemm® pad are perfect for a very small toy, and/or a small container of lotion/ointment. Please note, however, the patemm® pad CANNOT hold bottles.
|Q:|| How do I close my patemm® pad properly?|
|A: ||The best way to close your patemm® pad is simple: when folding the second side, pull the one handle outward — this becomes the handle of your patemm® pad. Continue to fold into a square; flip the handle over the patemm® pad and pull the side handle out. Click here for full instructions with step-by-step diagrams.
|Q:|| Is there another use for my patemm® pad once my child is out of diapers?|
|A: ||YES! The patemm® pad is perfect carrying an extra set of underpants and clothes for those occasional accidents when your little one is potty training. Older tots, potty training or beyond, love to carry and fold their patemm® pads themselves, as the pads can easily carry other "stuff," such as crayons, markers, small books, etc. The pad can then serve as a work area for your child. Simply throw the patemm® pad holding the "stuff" in your handbag, backpack, or car. Even better, have your little one pack it up, fold it, and carry it! It is also a great mat for the park or beach. The pad also serves as a great tummy time mat for babies!
|Q:|| What are the dimensions of the patemm® pads when they are folded?|
|A: ||Our 28-inch patemm® pad folds into a nine-inch square that is between 1.5 and 2 inches thick due to the inside padding. Thickness will vary depending on how much you put into the interior pockets.
|Q:|| Do your patemm® pads contain lead, phthalate, latex, BPA, or formaldehyde?|
|A: ||We, at patemm inc, are very aware of the recent news regarding lead and phthalate and other harmful chemicals in manufacturing goods. All of our patemm® pads in our collection are third party tested by Intertek. CPSIA and GOTS certified means that our patemm® pads are FREE of these harmful chemicals.
|Q:|| Are your patemm® pads PVC-FREE particularly the laminated cottons pads?|
|A: ||YES! All patemm® pads are PVC-FREE!
|Q:|| Are your laminated cotton patemm® pads OK to use with my child who has allergies?|
|A: ||Our laminated cotton (cotton coated with polyurethane) is CPSIA certified which means that our patemm® pads are PVC, Lead, Phthalate, Latex, BPA, and Formaldehyde-Free. Known allergies to laminated cotton may exist, and if you are concerned that your child may be allergic to laminated cotton, then these pads are not recommended. If you have further allergy concerns, please consult your physician.
|Q:|| Can I waterproof the GOTS certified organic cotton patemm® pad?|
